 "I've been looking forward to saving and sharing my notebooks on the web but when I try to use that feature in OneNote 2010 I get a message that "This service is not available".  What do I have to do to enable it?"

In fact it's working now!  If you're not seeing it for some reason either you may not have a Windows Live account yet (get one for free at http://www.live.com) or you may just need to close and restart OneNote.

In April there was a update for OneNote on Microsoft Update?  What was it?

Did you look at the KB article that referenced it? (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980729) Well, it wouldn't have mattered if you did because it merely confirms what you already know...they released an update.  As for what it does, it fixes an issue with syncing OneNote 2007 notebooks to a SharePoint 2010 server.
