Ink Crashing Bug

Some users are reporting crashes in OneNote 2010 after installing the recent Ink patch. (see sidebar left)   Apparently OneNote sometimes crashes when you navigate to a page containing qutie a bit of ink.  Microsoft is aware of the problem and working on a fix.  For now there are two workarounds (pick one)

1. Upgrade the notebook to 2010 format.  Apparently the bug only occurs in 2007 formatted notebooks.

2. Create, and then navigate to, a very simple page with a bit of ink on it.  Once you've successfully navigated to a page containing ink you won't get a crash for the rest of that session - until you restart OneNote.
